William E. Wigren, 63, a lifelong resident of Oil City, passed away Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.

Born March 3, 1945, in Oil City, he was a son of Edward H. and Mildred Shreve Wigren.

Mr. Wigren was a graduate of Oil City High School.

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served from 1965 to 1969 as a radioman.

Mr. Wigren attended the Pittsburgh Technical Institute and received an associate degree in drafting and design technology.

He was employed at Joy Technologies from 1969 until his death.

Mr. Wigren was a “Ham” radio operator and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandson, Sam.

On April 23, 1966, he married the former Nancy Reagle, who survives.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by two sons, Todd Wigren and his wife, Pamela, of Oil City, and Justin Wigren and his fiancee, Tammy, of Seneca; and a very special grandson, Samuel Lee Wigren of Seneca.

Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Geraldine K. Reagle of Seneca; a brother-in-law, Mark Reagle; two sisters-in-law, Kathy Lukasiak and her husband, Mark, and Joni Erich and her husband, Harold; two special aunts, Eva Wigren and Catherine Wigren of Edinboro; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two uncles, Donnie Wigren and Walter Wigren; and his father-in-law, Lee Reagle.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Morrison Funeral Home in Oil City.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Sharon Hilfiger, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, officiating.
