Robert A. Greene Jr., 63, of 369 Sugarcreek Drive, Franklin, died at 8:02 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, in UPMC Northwest, Seneca.
Born March 2, 1944, in Oil City, he was the son of Robert A. Greene Sr. and Margaret L. McFadden Greene Irwin, who survives in Rouseville.
Mr. Greene was a 1963 graduate of Oil City High School and lived in the Oil City area all of his life.
He served as an airman third class in the U.S. Air Force from June of 1963 to July of 1964.
Mr. Greene was employed in the V.R.S. Department at Polk Center for a number of years until his retirement. While working at Polk Center he served as the president of the Polk A.F.S.C.M.E.
He was Catholic in faith.
Mr. Greene’s hobbies included golf and shooting pool in the Franklin Men’s Pool League.
He was married July 14, 2001, to Debra S. Green, who survives, along with his mother, Margaret Irwin of Rousevillle.
Also surviving are two daughters, Kristen Ashe of Tucson, Ariz., and Kim Moseley of Wichita, Kan.; three stepdaughters, Lindi Sayers, Laura Nelson and Rachel Everhart, all of the Franklin area; five grandchildren; and six step grandchildren.
He also is survived by one brother and his wife, John and Karen Greene of Oil City; three sisters, Marilyn Lineman and Susanne Warzel and husband, Chuck, all of Rouseville, and Jo Anne Tate and husband, Melvin, of North Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Greene was preceded in death by his father.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Hutchinson Funeral Home, 201 Bissell Ave., Oil City.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Ron C. Bole, VNA Hospice minister, officiating.
Interment will be in Rynd Farm Cemetery.
